South Korea showcases digital and AI healthcare technology at UAE conference

The Digital and Artificial Intelligence Healthcare Technology Conference was held in Abu Dhabi on October 31, co-hosted by the Korean Embassy in the UAE, the Abu Dhabi Department of Health (DOH), and G42 Healthcare. The conference aimed to showcase Korean digital and AI healthcare companies and promote cooperation between Korea and the UAE in these fields.

More than 430 local healthcare professionals, medical equipment distributors and investment companies attended the conference.

At the opening ceremony, South Korean Ambassador to the UAE Yoo Jung-sung emphasized the importance of national health and expressed his hope that South Korea and the UAE can work together to protect the lives and health of people in both countries.

The conference also introduced Korean and UAE policies to promote the development of the AI and digital healthcare industries, as well as case studies of clinical applications of these technologies in hospitals.

In addition, 10 Korean digital and AI companies conducted more than 65 business partnership consultations on the latest digital and AI healthcare technologies and products. The consultation amount is expected to reach $3.7 million, which will serve as an opportunity for Korean digital and AI companies to enter the UAE and Middle East markets.

Lee Youngho, director of KHIDI’s UAE office, said the conference was a rare opportunity for Korean digital and AI healthcare companies to meet with potential partners in the UAE. He added that many countries, including the UAE, are looking to integrate digital and AI technologies into their healthcare systems, with the global digital healthcare market estimated to be worth more than $223.5 billion.
